CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT

- CHERRY CREEK - Jonathan Z. Scinta, 38, of Cherry Creek was charged with petit larceny after an alleged incident at 1 p.m. July 4 on Main Street in Cherry Creek. Through an investigation deputies charged Scinta, who allegedly took property that did not belong to him. An appearance ticket was issued Aug. 17 for Scinta to be in Cherry Creek Town Court later.

- CHERRY CREEK - Michael F. Doherty, 49, of Tonawanda was charged with operating without insurance, DWI and DWI per se at 6:16 p.m. Wednesday after deputies pulled a vehicle over for a traffic violation. Doherty was released to be in Cherry Creek Town Court later.

- PORTLAND - Ryan J. Evan, 44, of Portland was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child at 11:12 p.m. Wednesday after deputies responded to a reported altercation in Portland. Evans allegedly restrained another person while making unwanted physical contact, all in the presence of children. Evans was charged and taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment.

- MINA -- On Sunday around 9:53 a.m., deputies were dispatched to a property damage accident on Interstate 86. Deputies identified an individual on scene as Henry B. Stovall Jr., 49, of Jamestown. Through investigation it was found that Stovall had an active warrant out of the State of Pennsylvania. Stovall was transported to the Chautauqua County Jail and charged with being a Fugitive of Justice. Stovall was being held in jail pending his extradition hearing back to Pennsylvania.
