CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT
-- CARROLL -- Deputies responded to an address for a reported altercation at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday. It was reported that Jordan Beardsley did engage in a physical altercation with a subject that violated an order of protection. Beardsley was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, second-degree aggravated harassment and second-degree harassment. Beardsley was placed into custody and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail to be arraigned.
FREDONIA POLICE DEPARTMENT
-- A domestic dispute on Aug. 20 has led to charges for one individual.
At approximately 12:12 a.m., officers of the Fredonia Police Department responded to a residence on Brigham Road. Following an investigation, it is alleged that Matthew G. Bongiovanni struck the victim multiple times in the face, causing injuries to the victim’s face and eye, as well as a loss of consciousness. The incident occurred in the presence of a 3-month-old child and a 2-year-old child.
Bongiovanni was charged with second-degree assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
He was processed at the Fredonia Police Department and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail for Centralized Arraignment Part (CAP) proceedings.
-- A pair of village residents are facing charges after two toddlers, 2 and 3, were found on a street unsupervised.
At 10:16 a.m. Aug. 10, officers of the Fredonia Police Department were notified of the incident in the area of Eagle Street and Orchard streets.
Officers responded and located a 2-year-old child and a 3-year-old child attempting to cross the street without adult supervision. Following an investigation, it is alleged that Michaela Gilbert, 25, and Genesis Finley, 20, both of Fredonia, failed to provide adequate supervision, placing the children at risk of harm.
The children were safely returned home and were not injured during the incident.
As a result of the investigation, Gilbert and Finley were charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Gilbert and Finley were to be in Village of Fredonia Court at a later date to answer the charges.
JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT
-- Darin Bates, 27, of Jamestown was charged with first-degree criminal contempt and resisting arrest.
On Aug. 24 at 4:38 p.m., officers responded to an Eastside address for a reported domestic dispute. Upon arrival, officers were aware of a stay-away Order of Protection in which the victim was the protected party. Officers made contact with Bates inside the victim's residence. Following a brief struggle, Bates was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was held pending arraignment.
