CARROLL – A complaint of someone firing guns too close to a home in Carroll resulted in charges against two Jamestown men.
On Sunday, Carroll police officers responded to an address on Page Road for a complaint of firearms being discharged too close to a residence. Upon arrival, officers found two men identified as Jonathan Marrero Rosario, 20, and Joshua D. Tolliver, 23, both of Jamestown, each in possession of handguns. Neither man, according to a police report, had a valid state pistol permit.
The handguns had allegedly been reported stolen, police said, with all of the handgun magazines in possession of Rosario and Tolliver also allegedly exceeding the legal capacity in New York state.
Rosario and Tolliver were each charged with a violation of state Environmental Conservation Law statute of discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling house, second-degree criminal possession of a weapon, four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal use of a firearm, and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property.
Rosario and Tolliver were both taken to the county jail for centralized arraignment.
