CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — MAYVILLE — At 3:41 a.m. Saturday, members of the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to an address for a report of a past tense physical altercation. After an investigation it was determined that Kevin T Appelbe, 41, of Mayville, did intentionally cause physical injury to another person. During the altercation Appelbe did cause another person to be in fear of their life and did restrict their movements. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE — CHAUTAUQUA — Around 11:54 p.m. Wednesday, deputies were dispatched to Route 394 and Moore Road for a motor vehicle and property damage accident. After an investigation it was found that Phillip N. Grobe, 37, of Ashville was operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated at the time of the accident. He was charged with DWI, driving with 0.08 or more of alcohol, moving from lane unsafely, speed not reasonable & prudent, and unreasonable speed/special hazards. According to police, at about 11:12 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Allen Street and Foote Avenue for a report of a man that matched the description of a suspect from a burglary complaint that occurred at a Southside business. JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Vanessa R. Stevens, 35, of Jamestown was charged March 18 with second-degree criminal contempt. According to police, at about 7:30 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Northside residence to assist New York State Parole. While at the residence, officers observed Stevens allegedly violating an order of protection. Stevens was placed into custody, and taken to Jamestown City Jail.
