JAMESTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT - Debra Maldonado, 64, was charged Feb. 25 with having an active warrant, and seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance. According to police, at about 7:39 p.m., officers stopped a vehicle on Linden Avenue, near Forest Avenue, for an observed traffic infraction. After approaching the vehicle, police said, officers observed Maldonado, who was known to have an active arrest warrant, in the passenger seat. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT - Ian Tyler Ward, 33, of the town of Hanover, and Sarah Kestler, 38 of the town of Hanover were both charged Tuesday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Jamestown man sentenced to 13 years in prison

A Jamestown man convicted in three separate incidents will spend 13 years in prison. District Attorney Jason L. Schmidt announced Monday that Dylan Abbey, 33, was sentenced in Chautauqua County Court on convictions for three separate incidents that occurred in the City of Jamestown. Abbey had previously pleaded guilty in November 2025 to two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
