CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT — STOCKTON — At 2:28 a.m. Sunday, the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office observed a traffic infraction. When initiating the stop, the vehicle fled the scene. The operator of the vehicle was later identified as Eric J. Johnson, 46, of Jamestown. Johnson was charged with DWI, DWI per se, third-degree unlawful fleeing of a police officer in a motor vehicle, failure to comply with a lawful order, reckless driving, speed over 55 mph zone, failure to stop at a stop sign, improper or unsafe turn without a signal and failure to keep right. Woman, 18, charged in pair of Dunkirk incidents

An 18-year-old city woman is facing charges after a pair of incidents last week, including one involving a knife. At 5:11 p.m. Friday, Dunkirk Police were dispatched to a home for the recent theft of a coat. Once on scene the victim stated they and the suspect, Asabela Marrero-Pagan, got into a verbal argument. Marrero-Pagan then took the coat of the victim and left the residence. The victim has a valid order of protection against Marrero-Pagan. JAMESTOWN — A 31-year-old city resident with a violent past and state parolee is facing more trouble after an incident Thursday evening. Jamestown police report Alvin J. Jusino Jr. was charged with third- and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, second-degree criminal impersonation, resisting arrest and tampering with physical evidence. Jamestown man faces federal indictment after 2025 ‘X’ threats

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced today that a federal grand jury has returned an indictment charging Matthew White, 43, of Jamestown, with threatening to assault and murder a federal law enforcement officer and interstate communication with threat to injure a person. The charges carry a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. White was arraigned Thursday before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and released on conditions. Firefighters quickly quell blaze JAMESTOWN – Jamestown firefighters extinguished a blaze on the second floor of a 208 Charles St. residence. Upon arrival around 12:43 a.m. Friday, crews observed fire in second floor windows with smoke venting from the eves and attic. Crews quickly extinguished the fire after locating the blaze.
