JAMESTOWN POLICE - Stephanie L. Curtis, 34, of Jamestown was charged with third-degree assault and two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief at 9:57 p.m. Thursday after officers responded to a residence on the city’s west side for a reported physical domestic incident. Curtis allegedly damaged a television remote belonging to another person. Woman charged in Dunkirk stabbing incident A stabbing incident on Wednesday afternoon has led to charges against a city woman. Dunkirk police report that at about 2:30 p.m. they received a report of an incident on the 500 block of Leopard Street. Upon arrival, patrol located the male victim who alleged that, Layla Garcia, 23, of 522 Leopard St., stabbed him in the arm with a pair of scissors and hit him with a crowbar. CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT MAYVILLE — A Portville woman is facing a number of charges after a traffic accident at 3:12 p.m. Aug. 11. Deputies responded to an incident with injury at Routes 394 and 430. Upon arrival, deputies were advised that one of the vehicles involved had fled the scene. A short time later the vehicle was located at a residence and the operator identified as Penny A. Payne, 66, of Portville.
