Paula Komarek earns Enrolled Agent Certification
Paula J. Komarek, of Panama, a senior tax accountant with Buffamante Whipple Buttafaro, P.C., recently earned her Enrolled Agent Certification. An enrolled agent is a person who has earned the privilege of representing taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service.
Enrolled agent status is the highest credential the IRS awards. To obtain this certification, Komarek passed a three-part comprehensive Internal Revenue Service test covering individual and business tax returns. Individuals who obtain this elite status must adhere to ethical standards and complete 72 hours of continuing education courses every three years.

Komarek is a graduate of Alfred State College and has over 35 years of experience in accounting, tax preparation and auditing.
