Fredonia Place residents benefit from new bus with wheelchair lift

Fredonia Place residents are now “riding in style” thanks to its new motor coach which features a wheelchair lift and many other amenities for both residents’ comfort and safety.

Fredonia Place is pleased to announce the purchase of a 2014 Goshen Coach GCII which can accommodate 15 people for resident outings, shopping shuttle and transportation to medical appointments. Built on a Ford E-350 chassis, the coach was purchased from Matthews Buses Inc. of Ballston Spa. In addition to the driver, it can accommodate one passenger in a wheelchair and 13 passengers in comfortable and easily-accessible seats.

The new bus supplements Fredonia Place’s vehicle fleet which also includes a four-door Mercury Marquis sedan which is mainly utilized to transport residents to medical appointments in the local area. The bus also features bright and colorful graphics incorporating Fredonia Place’s newly-designed logo. It replaces a 12-passenger Ford E-350 Eldorado motor coach purchased when Fredonia Place opened in 2003.

Fredonia Place provides assisted living, memory care and respite services to 75 community residents. There is no entry fee to the life you deserve – your monthly rent at Fredonia Place includes: All three meals (restaurant style dining), daily snacks, all utilities (local- and long-distance telephone, cable television, baseboard heat, air conditioning and electricity), resident activities and outings, transportation to medical appointments, shopping shuttle, medication assistance, personal care (if needed), nightly resident checks, maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, emergency pendants and pull cords, high-speed Internet, religious services, 24-hour staffing and much more.
