Liberty Vineyards Brings Home Gold in International Competitions
SHERIDAN — Liberty Vineyards & Winery of Sheridan, received a number of prestigious awards recently at the Indy International Wine Competition held in Indianapolis, Indiana and the Dan Berger International Wine Competition held in Santa Rosa, California.
At the Indy International, Liberty received a Double Gold for its Fredonia wine, which is a semi-sweet red wine and Silvers for Cat Noir, a semi-sweet rose; Reds, Whites & Blues, a sweet rose; and 2016 Traminette, a semi-dry white. Liberty also received Bronze medals for 2016 Chardonnay and 2016 Pinot Grigio, both dry whites.
“We’re very happy with these awards. Fredonia is a customer favorite, and it was really nice to see it win a Double Gold. The winners represent a lot of different styles of wine — from dry to sweet,” said Gary Burmaster, who owns the winery with his wife, Pam.
In addition to the awards won at Indy, Liberty also received a number of awards at the Dan Berger International Wine Competition, including Silvers for Noiret, a dry red and Reds, Whites & Blues and Bronzes for 2016 Rose of Marquette (a dry rose), 2016 Pinot Grigio, and Bronze for 2015 Barrel-Select Noiret, a dry red.
