GOWANDA — Colleagues, family and friends gathered Thursday night April 18th, to celebrate the retirement of long time building supervisor, Danny Davis. Mr. Davis had provided the maintenance services at 1 School St. in Gowanda since 2010. Members of the Board, current and former employees, and the Davis family recognized and honored Mr. Davis’ longtime dedication to the care of the building as well as the impeccable care he showed to the tenants and residents of Academy Place Apartments and Community Place.

Mike Hutchinson and Rob Gaylord both directors of the Academy Place Housing Development Fund Company gave warm remarks stating that the building’s success was in part due to the passion and commitment of Danny Davis as well as his wife Michelle. Michelle Davis was a strong advocate in the early days of the building project when the site transitioned from the former the Gowanda Elementary School to what is now home to 32 older adults, Healthy Community Alliance offices, TriCounty Family Medicine Associates, Meals on Wheels and other health and human service agencies.

The Academy Place Housing Development Fund Company also recognized Danny Davis at its annual meeting on April 17 where the Board of Directors elected its officers for 2019/2020. Danny Davis was appointed as a new director and will continue to provide service to Academy Place Apartments and Community Place, but will do so now as a volunteer on the Fund Company’s Board of Directors.
