Area business helps Gowanda Free Library

GOWANDA — The “I Know a Guy Home Improvement” is a Native American owned and operated local business that was hired to make the Gowanda Free Library handicapped accessible to better serve the community.

Cathy Walsh, the Director of the library, said she was pleasantly surprised to hear the owner say that he was going to teach a hands-on lesson on how to pour concrete and was wondering if he could use the library’s need for a concrete pad as the example for them to work on and that it would be free to the library.

“Of course I agreed. However, to my surprise it was much more than just the concrete pad at the end of a wheelchair ramp. The I Know a Guy Home Improvement personnel not only poured the concrete pad but replaced a large section of seriously deteriorating sidewalk as well. We so appreciate this. This company does a fine professional job and is a company with a heart,” said Walsh.
