Baghat & Laurito-Baghat’s McCormick licensed as CPA

Nicholas McCormick

Bahgat & Laurito-Bahgat, one of Chautauqua County’s largest Certified Public Accounting firms, announces that Nicholas McCormick successfully completed all four parts of the CPA exam and has obtained licensure by the State of New York.

The CPA examination is a rigorous exam administered by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants to ensure only qualified individuals become CPAs. The exam is one of the most difficult professional examinations and the passing rate is one of the lowest among professional licensure tests. In order to become a licensed CPA, McCormick not only had to successfully complete the exam, he also was required to work under a CPA for one year. McCormick is a 2017 graduate of SUNY Fredonia with a BS in Public Accountancy in a 150-credit hour program which enabled him to sit for the CPA exam. Additionally, he has a BS in Economics from Ohio State, which he completed in 2015.

McCormick is employed as a staff accountant at Bahgat & Laurito-Bahgat, where he is an auditor specializing in government and non-profit accounting. McCormick is also responsible for tax return preparation as well as being involved in the firm’s Employer-provided health insurance administration niche. He is the son of David and Anne McCormick of Fredonia.
