Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County opened their new education center and bookstore this past week at 10-12 Park Place in Fredonia.

Literacy Volunteers provides one-on-one tutoring to adults throughout Chautauqua County to help them achieve their goals of learning to speak English, improving their reading, balancing their checkbook, or getting their high school equivalency. LVCC is the sole provider of these services in the county. Their tutors go into the community and meet students when and where is convenient to the students. They are very excited about the new types of services that the new location and space will allow them to offer. To make an appointment for tutoring or to become a volunteer tutor call 366-4438.

Bookstore days and hours are Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Look for expanding hours soon! Donations of gently used books to restore their stock are greatly appreciated. They cannot accept textbooks, magazines, encyclopedias or cookbooks as they do not re-sell.

Looking to volunteer? LVCC is looking for help in the bookstore and volunteer tutors. Stop in at the education center to learn more or visit https://www.lvccread.org.

They would like to send a special thanks out to all who helped and continue to help them get settled!
