Money magazine again taps Fredonia as a great value in education

Money magazine has again named the State University of New York at Fredonia as one of the top colleges in the country for quality and affordability.

The magazine’s annual rankings of colleges are based on thousands of metrics, including tuition fees, family borrowing and career earnings.

“SUNY Fredonia is delighted to again be recognized by Money magazine for our ability to prepare students for successful careers with an affordable education on an engaging and beautiful campus,” said Interim President Dennis Hefner. “This demonstrates to prospective students that Fredonia can give them the best college experience possible without being overwhelmed with student debt.”

The recognition by Money magazine is the latest in a series of accolades demonstrating the quality of a Fredonia education. The Princeton Review placed Fredonia on the 2020 list of “Best Northeast” colleges for overall quality and among the best “Green Colleges” for sustainability. Also, Kiplinger’s placed Fredonia on the Best College Value list for 2019.

“These rankings are good resources of information for students and families to start their college search,” said Vice President of Enrollment and Student Services Cedric Howard. “But when they come for a visit and they see how those rankings and accolades transform into tangible, attractive campus traits, that’s when they see the real quality in a Fredonia education.”
