Together, we have accomplished a lot, and together we will continue the drive to get Fredonia listed in the Top 5. Business people, community leaders, residents, students, and people from all walks of life who just love Fredonia have all come together to make our collective voices heard.

In this busy holiday season we hope you will take a moment out of your day to keep posting on social media for #myfredonia. Keep the momentum rolling forward on your personal and business pages on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat. Post your photos, stories and information about your favorite businesses. Your active participation will make a difference as the team from Deluxe and Small Business Revolution determine which communities get to move into the voting round for Season 5.

The winner of Small Business Revolution gets $500,000 in revitalization funding from Deluxe and an opportunity to showcase the transformation on the TV show, which is aired on Hulu and Amazon Prime.

In the weeks ahead Team Fredonia will remain at work helping to build momentum and laying the groundwork for online voting in the Top 5. We look forward with optimism to the announcement on January 14. Hang in there with us and keep posting!

Jamestown Chamber to “Salute the Finest” Jan. 27

All are invited to attend the annual Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce Salute to the Finest, Monday, January 27. This year’s recognition dinner will be held at Landmark Restaurant, 516 West Fourth Street.

Awards will be presented as follows: New Business of the Year, Fringe Hair Salon; Young Business Person of the Year, Andrea Latona of Full Moon Rising Bakery; Service to Humanity Award, Chautauqua Blind Association; Pride of Jamestown Award, Winifred Crawford Dibert Boys & Girls Club of Jamestown; and the Business of the Year Award to JRSC Digital. A special Hometown Legacy Award will be presented this year to Geer-Dunn Co. Inc. for its 100 years of service to the Jamestown community.

A cocktail hour with cash bar starts at 5pm, with dinner served at 6pm. The cost is $38 for Chamber members and $40 for non-members, or you can reserve a table of eight for $280. Meal selections are mango salmon, boneless short ribs, or chicken Florentine. Reservations are required by January 21 and early registration is advised due to limited seating. Save the Date for the Annual Congressional Luncheon Jan. 24

Please save the date for the annual Chamber Federal Congressional Luncheon on Friday, January 24. This luncheon event will be held at the Clarion Hotel and Conference Center, 30 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk, at 12:30pm. U.S. Representative Tom Reed will be our guest and will answer questions from the audience. Registration will be available online or by phone soon.

Doors Open Jamestown is Jan. 18

Doors Open has become a tradition in Jamestown, and attendance grows each year. January 18 is the date this year, as local attractions invite area residents to visit and learn about the amazing local museums, galleries, and assets we have in the Jamestown area. History, nature, comedy, and art are all on full display, and you can enter to win prizes! Most attractions will be open 10am-5pm and admission is FREE! Dozens of local restaurants and retail shops will also be open for your shopping and dining pleasure. Watch for the full list of attractions to be announced shortly. Doors Open Jamestown is organized by Jamestown Up Close and the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation with support from the Jamestown Community Chamber of Commerce.

Volunteer for the Winter Festival Feb. 14-16

The Presidents Day Weekend Winter Festival will be here before we know it! It’s a tremendous community event and you can help by volunteering. Volunteers are wanted for both Saturday, February 15th and Sunday the 16th for a variety of projects including helping with the games and contests, the chili cook-off, the scavenger hunt, and much more. Chamber Holiday Closings

The Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce offices will be closed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, so that our staff members can enjoy family time during these holidays.
