Mark Nickerson

The Fredonia Technology Incubator continues its Entrepreneurial Education Program with a virtual workshop designed to assist entrepreneurs and startups with taxes and accounting.

Small business owner, CPA and Fredonia lecturer Mark Nickerson will conduct the workshop.

“The Entrepreneurial Education Program provides entrepreneurs with useful, hands on information and an opportunity to ask presenters questions,” said Incubator Director Chuck Cornell. “High quality and interactive entrepreneurial workshops such as this are a key part of our services and programming we provide at the Incubator.”

The workshop will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 30, from noon to 1 p.m. The event is free and is open to the public. The workshop will take place remotely via Zoom. Participants must register for the event at tech–incubator.eventbrite.com or visit the incubator webpage at www.fredonia.edu/incubator

Registered participants will receive a Zoom invite via email prior to the event. For more information, call 680-6009 or email incubator@fredonia.edu.

The workshop will cover the topics of choice of business entity and income taxation, sales tax collection and filing, payroll tax requirements including independent contractors vs. employee considerations, and self-employment tax for business owners.

Nickerson is a lecturer at the State University at Fredonia and the owner of Mark Nickerson CPA PLLC. He has more than 16 years of experience working with small businesses and startups.
