Options Care Center receives new ultrasound

Options Care Center, formerly Women’s Services, has been doing business in Chautauqua County for over three decades offering pregnancy tests, parenting education, material assistance for families with young children, and several other services. In the past year, they began offering a new service: limited ultrasound.

With the help of generous community supporters, 4us Community Champions Grant, and a Chautauqua Region Community Foundation grant, they were able to secure a state-of-the-art machine.

“This machine is such a blessing to us and our community. I’ve seen many sonogram pictures, and every time, I’m amazed at the technology we have that can give us a look inside the womb. It’s incredible to think we can see a heartbeat when a woman is six or seven weeks along or to see the little arms and legs shortly after.” says Jessie Andersen, executive director.

A longtime client, says of OCC, “Services are great, and staff is friendly and helpful. The Hope Program has helped me learn what parenting is all about. And the ultrasound will be great for those who are going to be a first-time parent.”

Options Care Center will offer free pregnancy tests in the north county on the second Tuesday of each month at The Outpour Project 61 E. Fourth St., Dunkirk next to KeyBank. Options Care Center is open to clients on Mondays from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at their Jamestown location.

There is also a 24-hour hotline for support at 484-1234. All services are free. You can find more information at www.optionscarecenter.com.
