HOPE plans virtual 5K run in May

HOPE Chautauqua, an initiative of Prevention Works, is announcing its first Virtual 5k Run. Run or walk the 5K (3.1 miles) with us any time throughout the month of May, whenever, wherever, and at your own pace. We highly encourage you to use the free IT’S YOUR RACE (IYR) Virtual app. It will automatically track and map your route for you and then enter your results online.

A $25 registration prior to April 10, 2021 gives you the chance to add a really cool “Run for HOPE” tech t-shirt. A $20 registration does not include a t-shirt, but will allow you to participate. If you would rather donate instead of participate, donations can be made online or sent to Prevention Works, 509 North Main Street, Jamestown, NY 14701.

First, second and third fastest times will receive a $25 Amazon E-Gift Card. Beginning May 8, we will select a random individual each Saturday, who has completed that week, to receive a $10 Amazon E-Gift Card. In order to qualify to receive a prize you must be using the ITS YOUR RACE Mobile App so we can see if you have completed the 5K! For more information on how to download the app visit: https://www.itsyourrace.com/mobile-app.aspx

This is a great opportunity to support a great cause. HOPE Chautauqua is a substance use prevention coalition. Our mission is to create an environment where all youth can develop into healthy and productive adults thought the promotion and implementation of healthy lifestyle choices and the use of evidence-based, community-level substance use interventions. Proceeds from the 5K will continue to strengthen the coalitions prevention efforts, including the Prevention Mobile Unit, youth engagement events, and educational substance use prevention games and activities.
