A new water sports craft rental business at Point Gratiot is now accepting reservations.

A ribbon cutting event, attended by city officials including Mayor Wilfred Rosas, was held recently for Sundaze Watersport Rentals. Located just inside the Point Gratiot entrance gate, Sundaze offers jet ski, canoe, kayak, pedal boat and paddle board rentals.

According to their website, Sundaze is open from 9 a.m. to sunset, seven days a week. They note that personal flotation devices, aka life jackets, will be included in all craft rentals, and that people must be at least 18 years old to do a rental.

Bookings are accepted at the business and online. It is recommended that people show up 25 minutes before their scheduled rental times, so Sundaze staff can go over paperwork and rules, and fit personal flotation devices.

Sundaze’s rental store also sells concessions for the beach, including things such as drinks, snacks, ice cream and sunscreen.
