After the successful 25th anniversary and well attended Red White & Blues Festival in Fredonia this September, a winner of the “Best Cocktail in Fredonia” award has been selected. The winner, EBC West, located at 34 W. Main St. in Fredonia, was presented with a trophy and special prize by the Festivals Fredonia Committee and Three Chord Bourbon for their original drink “Peach Smash,” featuring locally-blended spirits from Three Chord Bourbon.

Three Chord Bourbon, one of this year’s festival sponsors, awarded the venue with $100 Amex gift card to the manager, Kent Hinderleider, and his team. They will hold the trophy and title for one year, until it goes up for grabs again at the 2022 Red White & Blues Festival. Competition was fierce, with the popular votes rolling in for all the competing bars, but no one could match the originality and presentation of EBC West.

Now available on their YouTube channel, the podcast Buffalo Happy Hour will be broadcasting the interview with the creator of “Peach Smash”, Thom Hirshbeck, as he talks about and makes his creation for the team and showcases his mixology skills! Congratulations, Thom! You can find the interview here:

A big thank you goes out to all of the participating venues: Fredonia Memorial American Legion Post 59, Fredonia Beaver Club, Coughlan’s Pub, EBC West and Muldoon’s / Tully’s, as well as to all of the fantastic people who came out to vote for their favorite drink and enjoy the festival’s musical performances.

Venues who would like to compete in next year’s “Best Cocktail in Fredonia” competition should contact Larry Fiorella, the Red, White and Blues Festivals Facebook page at or the Festivals Fredonia Facebook Page at
