Morton is promoted to Chief Operating Officer at Brooks-TLC

Julie Morton

Brooks-TLC Hospital System is pleased to announced the promotion of Chief Nursing Officer Julie Morton, M.S., B.S.N, R.N., to include the title of chief operating officer, effective immediately.

“Julie has been an integral member of the executive leadership team since her promotion to chief nursing officer in June 2021,” said Ken Morris, Brooks-TLC’s president and CEO. “She has contributed to the development and implementation of plans to improve patient care, safety and quality from the moment patients entered the hospital facility. Julie’s leadership during the COVID-19 was critical for our success and she will continue to use her leadership, experience and knowledge to oversee our hospital system and support us in taking our services to the next level of excellence.”

Morton joined Brooks-TLC in 2015 as assistant nurse manager, and also served as clinical nurse manager, before her promotion to director of nursing for emergency services in 2017. With over 25 years of nursing experience, she came to Brooks-TLC from UPMC Chautauqua WCA in Jamestown, where she was charge nurse.

In her role, Morton is responsible for overseeing all nursing activities, as well as ensuring system-wide adherence to outside regulatory and legal requirements, and internal policies and procedures. As chief operating officer, she will be responsible for aligning all clinical operations as well as other day-to-day operations – developing and overseeing strategic and operational plans, as well as growth and business development initiatives.

Morton holds a Master of Science in Nursing Executive Leadership from Daemen College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gannon University and an Associate’s in Applied Science from Alfred State College of Technology.

“As the health care industry enters a post-pandemic world, we in rural healthcare have to think differently than we ever have before,” said Morton. “To be a part of this amazing team, as we further our commitment to our community, is an incredible opportunity. I’m honored by the confidence shown in me and I look forward to bringing clinical and strategic operations together for the best possible patient outcomes.”
