Brooks announces radiology partnership with St. Lawrence

The Brooks-TLC Hospital System has announced a new partnership with St. Lawrence Radiology Associates, PC, a provider of radiology services throughout New York and Pennsylvania.

The partnership, which will take effect Dec. 1, allows St. Lawrence Radiology Associates to support the diagnostic imaging needs of Brooks-TLC patients at the Brooks Hospital campus in Dunkirk and the Gowanda Urgent Care and Medical Center. Dr. Terence D. Schumpert has been named Medical Director of Diagnostic Imaging for the health system.

Over the past year the Brooks-TLC’s diagnostic imaging department completed 24,031 radiology procedures for patients. This includes over 1,766 mammography studies and over 7,000 advanced imaging studies using computed tomography (CT Scan) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), further emphasizing the importance of this partnership for the Chautauqua County community it serves.

“When there is collaboration and partnership, wonderful things can be achieved,” said Ken Morris, president and CEO of Brooks-TLC Hospital System. “By partnering with St. Lawrence Radiology Associates, Brooks-TCL further emphasizes our commitment to improving the health and wellness of our Western New York communities.”

“The on-site presence of Dr. Schumpert as lead interpreting physician will mark our return to providing mammography services and put our Hologic Dimensions 3D GeniusA1 Imaging Technology back into service – something we are very excited about,” Morris said.

Dr. Schumpert completed a Fellowship in Body Imaging at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York, and his residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas. He received his bachelor of arts from the University of Texas at Austin and holds a doctor of medicine degree, also from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

“By partnering with a healthcare services provider with longevity and a track record for radiologic excellence, we are confident that the St. Lawrence Radiology Associates team is joining an organization that will enhance our ability to focus on our superior clinical services while aligning with our culture of compassionate care to best serve their patients,” said Dr. G. Michael Maresca, president and owner of St. Lawrence Radiology Associates.
