Applications sought for labor scholarship
Nationwide, and right here in our community, there is a great need for skilled tradespersons, including machinists, plumbers, electricians, and more.
The Dunkirk Area Labor Council Scholarship at Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation is awarded annually to students pursuing an education in the trades, manufacturing technology, auto technology, or auto body repair.
Graduating seniors from the following schools are eligible to apply: Brocton, Cassadaga, Chautauqua Lake, Dunkirk, Forestville, Fredonia, Pine Valley, Silver Creek, Westfield, and BOCES. Applications are available from the school counseling centers or on the NCCF’s website at nccfoundation.org/Dunkirk-area-labor-council-scholarship. The Dunkirk Area Labor Council, a Western New York Area Labor Foundation member, organizes and advocates essential issues for working people throughout the community.
Submitted applications will be reviewed by the Dunkirk Area Labor Council Scholarship Committee, comprised of community members.
Since its incorporation in 1986, the NCCF has invested more than $20 million in northern Chautauqua County through strategic grantmaking, targeted scholarships, and leadership and community collaborations.
