Community Eye Care Specialists (CECS) announces the addition of optometrist Dr. Benjamin Gutsin to its team.

Dr. Gutsin is a dedicated optometrist committed to delivering personalized, evidence-based care with a strong focus on comprehensive eye care, clinical instruction and ocular disease management. He will see patients at CECS’s Dunkirk location.

Throughout his career, Dr. Gutsin has been recognized with several honors, including the CooperVision Best Practice Scholarship and the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence. He is a contributing writer for Review of Optometric Business and a former presenter for the National Optometric Historical Society.

Dr. Gutsin earned his Doctor of Optometry degree from Salus at Drexel University, where he was selected for the prestigious 3-Year Accelerated Scholars Program. His clinical training includes externships at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Wilmington, Delaware; Ophthalmology Physicians & Surgeons in Collegeville, Pennsylvania; and Total Eye Care Centers in Levittown, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Gutsin is licensed to practice in New York with oral medication prescribing privileges and has passed all three parts of the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys trying new foods, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
