Nestle Purina’s Dunkirk plant has contributed $51,452 to United Way of Chautauqua County’s 2025 Fundraising Campaign, bringing United Way closer to its $1.7 million goal as the campaign enters its final weeks.

The contribution reflects both corporate support from Nestlé Purina as well as the generosity of employees who pledged to give through payroll deductions — a powerful example of how workplace campaigns turn individual gifts into collective impact.

On Tuesday, UWCHQ Executive Director Amy Rohler and UWCHQ Northern Chautauqua Community Relations Coordinator Daniel Siracuse joined Purina leadership and staff at the Dunkirk facility to celebrate the milestone gift – as well as to recognize the company’s continued commitment to the community.

Nestle Purina has been a steadfast supporter of United Way in Northern Chautauqua County for many years, dating back well before the county’s two United Ways merged into a single, countywide organization. That long-standing partnership has helped fuel critical programs serving children, families, and seniors — and continues today through payroll pledge giving as well as volunteer.

“Purina employees consistently show up for this community,” Rohler said. “This past year they read to students during our annual Literacy Week and also volunteered their time during Day of Caring, which shows the depth of their commitment. That kind of hands-on engagement, paired with their workplace campaign, reflects a deep commitment to strengthening Chautauqua County and the people who call it home.”

Since its beginnings as the Community Chest in 1920, United Way has worked side by side with local businesses that believe in strengthening the communities where their employees live and work. Today, gifts made through United Way’s annual campaign support 46 programs at 38 local partner agencies, ensuring help is available where and when it’s needed most.

The partnership of Nestle Purina with United Way demonstrates what’s possible when we come together — because united, we do more.

United Way of Chautauqua County is committed to improving lives and strengthening communities by mobilizing resources, fostering partnerships and supporting impactful programs. Through collaboration and innovation, United Way works to address the most pressing needs in Chautauqua County, ensuring a brighter future for all.
