The Post-Journal and OBSERVER have been analyzing real estate sales in Chautauqua County and recently looked at the transactions from Feb. 24-27. The county does not provide transaction information, but real estate documents are available for review at the clerk’s office.
During this time period, the Lawrence N. Hooker & Evelyn J. Hooker Family Trust sold nine parcels in Villenova to Nelson Nobles for $1,023,010.
The parcels total 201.3 acres of land and are not all contiguous. The parcels are on Cemetery, Hooker, Balcolm-Cross, Ball Hill, Smith, Villenova, and Dye roads.
There were other business sales during this time period.

Pillars Executive Office Suites, LLC sold 474 Fairmount Ave., Ellicott to J&C Holdings of CHQ, LLC for $275,000. This is the location of Lawson MGMT, which was formerly CHQ Property Services. On their Facebook page, the business states, “We have been managing rental property the right way since 2011. We handle it all: management, maintenance, sales, and rentals.”
Steven and Karen Brigg sold 17 ½ Main St., Forestville, to 205 Brothers, LLC for $150,000. This had been the location of Briggs Home Improvement.
Rosanne Chesbro sold 158 Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk to VGI Safety & Security, LLC for $70,000. According to its LinkedIn company page, VGI Safety & Security is a USA based Technology and Security Solutions Provider and Consultancy operating in all 50 states. There have been many different businesses at 158 Lake Shore Drive East over the years, including VEES Unisex Salon & Boutique.
Including the transaction previously mentioned, there were two sales during this time period that were $300,000 or higher. The remaining top sale was 8743 Center Rd., Arkwright, which sold for $350,000.
