The toys were collected by members of the Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant (JEP) Easter Toy Drive Committee. Accompanying the pair are Jennifer Lundmark, Cummins JEP Community Relations Coordinator, Matt Davis, New Product Introduction Team and Brandie Sischo, Final Parts Mounting Assistant Team Leader.
Cummins Jamestown Engine Plant Easter Toy Committee recently held a toy drive at its facility, where employees donated toys and monetary contributions to help bring joy to young patients at AHN Westfield Hospital. As part of the effort, several boxes filled with toys and comfort items valued at $500 were donated to support the hospital’s pediatric patients.
The donation reflects the generosity and community spirit of Cummins employees, many of whom live, work, and raise their families in the area.
“We are very happy to offer these gifts to AHN Westfield Hospital and its young patients,” said Cummins JEP Sr. Industrial Engineer and Westfield Memorial Hospital Foundation (WMHF) Vice-Chair, Shane Lindstrom. “We hope these toys bring comfort and smiles to children and families during hospital visits.”
“The hospital is honored to be chosen as the recipients of these wonderful toys from Cummins employees for our pediatric patients,” said Dr. Rodney J. Buchanan, Administrator of AHN Westfield Hospital. “Everyone feels better when a sick or injured child can focus on a new toy or cuddly stuffed animal instead of the illness or injury that brought them to the Emergency Department, especially during stressful times,” he continued.
Patricia Gaughan DiPalma, WMHF Executive Director, also expressed appreciation for the donation.”We, along with Foundation board members, are deeply grateful for this wonderful act of kindness,” DiPalma said.
“It’s always moving to see members of our community step forward to help children in need. Our community hospital remains committed to providing comfort and high-quality healthcare to children, families, and residents throughout the Chautauqua region and beyond.”
AHN Westfield Hospital is a member of the Allegheny Health Network.
