Summer season starts now in Chautauqua County

The summer season is upon us and there’s no shortage of things to do, places to go, and people to see in Chautauqua County. Summertime here is not just for tourists, there’s plenty for residents as well. The Chamber’s First Friday series in Westfield kicks off Friday, June 7 on Main Street in that village. We’re halfway through the month of May and so far, it’s been a season of growth here at the Chamber of Commerce. Our annual Spring Membership Drive has wrapped up, with 28 new members to show for it. State lawmakers in the spotlight

The state budget process, energy issues, Chautauqua Lake, and more were all topics addressed by State Senator George Borrello and Assemblyman Andrew Goodell during the Chamber’s Annual State Legislative Breakfast. This event draws a varied audience each year consisting of local businesspeople, nonprofits, and local government representatives. Lake Shore declares first-quarter dividend

Lake Shore Bancorp, Inc. the holding company for Lake Shore Savings Bank (the “Bank”), announced Thursday that it received the written approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia to pay a cash dividend of 18 cents per share to its stockholders. Additionally, the Reserve Bank also issued a non-objection to Lake Shore, MHC, the Company’s mutual holding company parent, to waive the MHC’s receipt of cash dividends on its common stock up to 72 cents per share during the 12-month period ending April 2, 2025.
