Lake Shore declares first-quarter dividend

Lake Shore Bancorp, Inc. the holding company for Lake Shore Savings Bank (the “Bank”), announced Thursday that it received the written approval from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia to pay a cash dividend of 18 cents per share to its stockholders. Additionally, the Reserve Bank also issued a non-objection to Lake Shore, MHC, the Company’s mutual holding company parent, to waive the MHC’s receipt of cash dividends on its common stock up to 72 cents per share during the 12-month period ending April 2, 2025. Job cuts may impact UPMC Chautauqua

Fiscal worries appear to be starting to mount at UPMC. This week, the health care giant reported it was aiming to cut more than 1,000 staff members in the coming weeks, which is 1% of its 100,000-member workforce. The news of the reductions comes more than a month after the non-profit reported an operating loss of $198.3 million in 2023. UPMC Chautauqua in Jamestown, which is part of the Pittsburgh-based operation, could be impacted by the looming cuts.
