There is no bad day spent on the golf course, and that becomes abundantly clear to us each year when we hold the annual Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament. This year’s event was stellar: comfortable and dry weather, a well-manicured golf course, and a terrific day spent interacting with colleagues and friends on the Upper Course at Peek’n Peak. Small Business Development Center to host Women in Networking Program

For over a decade, the Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College has hosted the Women in Networking Chautauqua program every month. This program is for female business owners and women working in the business sector. The program is also sponsored by Community Bank. On Aug. 10 female business owners will be meeting in person to enable women to exchange ideas, experiences, and address challenging issues. Casinos ‘not a sure bet’ for tax revenue

New York’s casinos are not a sure bet to drum up tax revenue for the state and local governments, according to a new report, which comes as the state considers adding several new gambling facilities. The report by state Comptroller Tom DiNapoli found that the state’s four licensed casinos brought $176 million in gaming tax revenue from 2017 to 2022 for host and regional local governments, but only the three smaller towns that host casinos had significant fiscal benefits.
