Portland Bicentennial Committee offers residents two events to celebrate

The Portland Bicentennial Committee wants to bring area families together for a community-wide family picnic on Labor Day at 1 p.m. The picnic will be at the Brocton-Portland Community Park on W. Main St. in Brocton. Bring a dish to pass, be a part of this historical celebration and join the fun. Those who missed the very popular Cemetery Tour have another chance. Meet that morning at 11 a.m. at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery to relive history and learn some of the trials our community has survived. These are the last chances to be a part of this community’s celebration of its history.
