Gowanda parking ban in effect

The village of Gowanda’s winter parking ban began on Nov. 1 and will run until Apr. 1. During the ban, it is illegal to park a vehicle on the roadway between midnight and 7 a.m. Violators will be subject to a parking ticket.

Villenova board meets Tuesday

The Villenova Town Board will conduct a special meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the town hall, 1094 Butcher Road, South Dayton. The purpose of the special meeting is to accept the Final Environmental Impact Study for the Ball Hill Wind Project.

Poinsettia sale in full swing

Would you like to purchase a beautiful poinsettia and help an area organization this holiday season? The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County is selling poinsettias for the holiday in pink, red, white and marble for $10 each. Proceeds benefit the club and its Hope for the Holidays program.

Orders and payments are due Dec. 2 and orders will be ready for pick up by Dec. 9.

Bell ringers needed

The Salvation Army is in desperate need of bell ringers for its Red Kettle campaign to fund local programs like its food pantry and basketball/tutoring program. There are flexible times and bell ringing can count as credit toward community service hours. There are 10 locations in the Dunkirk, Fredonia, Westfield, Sinclairville, Silver Creek and Cassadaga areas. Call the Salvation Army at 366-3701 or stop by 704 Central Avenue, Dunkirk, Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and until 5 p.m. on Tuesdays to sign up.
