Southern Tier Classic Chevy Car club car show set for Saturday
The Southern Tier Classic Chevy Car club car show will take place Saturday at the Celoron Rib Fest, Boulevard Avenue, Celoron. Registration begins at 9 a.m. There will be a $10 entrance fee per show car. All antique, classic, special interest vehicles are invited. This event benefits the Jamestown area Meals on Wheels programs. Trophies and awards will be given out at 4 p.m. There is no pre-registration, and no rain date is scheduled.
Perrysburg community-wide yard sales planned for Saturday

The annual meeting of Gowanda Pine Hill Cemetery Association will be Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at the cemetery. All lot owners are invited to attend.
COAS to teach healthy eating
Chautauqua Opportunities Alzheimer’s Services is having a Lunch and Learn on Healthy Eating on June 13 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. at Connections North 10825 Bennett Road, Dunkirk.
The community is invited to learn about senior nutrition and what types of foods to eat to help reduce risk for Alzheimer’s Disease and dementia, while talking with an Eat Smart Nutritionist and learning the importance of eating well on a budget and getting the proper nutrition.
Reservations will be accepted until June 11. Call 366-3335 ext. 1236. This is a free program sponsored in part by a grant from the NYS Department of Health.
Benefit for Casey Caron on June 10
There will be a benefit for Casey Caron on Sunday, June 10 from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Brocton American Legion Post 434, 110 W. Main St. There will be a spaghetti dinner for $7 for adults, or $4 for seniors and children 12 and under. Other activities include a ticket auction, 50-50, bake sale and Family Tradition Karaoke and DJ.
Casey was diagnosed with Grade 4 brain cancer in September of 2017. He underwent radiation, chemotherapy and had a port put in his head for more chemotherapy. Treatments were stopped due to a bacterial infection. He has gone home with Hospice coming in.
The benefit will help his wife Jamie and four children take care of him in his final days at home. Donations of money, gift certificates or time can be made by calling Caroline West at 785-0685.

The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of the Cassadaga Valley Central School District will be held Monday, June 11 at 7 p.m. in the Middle High School Multi-Purpose Room.

Republican party ot meet
Brocton/Portland Republican Party will meet Saturday, June 9, at 9 a.m. at the Portland Town Hall. Discussion will be the November election and fundraisers. New members are welcome.
‘Ride to find ’em’ Saturday
The fifth annual “Ride to find em” motorcycle run, a fundraiser for the C.U.E. center for missing persons, will be held Saturday June 9th leaving the Celoron Rib fest at 10:30 a.m. The Axemen motorcycle club will lead the run throughout the county ending back at the rib fest around 3pm. Riders can sign up at the CUE tent starting Wednesday at the Rib fest through the morning of the event, rain or shine. Dunkirk Moose Lodge hosting cruise nights beginning June 11
Dunkirk Moose Lodge No. 89, 296 Lake Shore Drive, West, will host cruise nights on Monday, June 11, July 9 and Aug. 13. Rain dates will be the following Mondays. There will be door prizes, a 50/50 and two $25 cash prizes. Hot dogs, hamburgers and sausages as well as beverages available for purchase. All antique, classic, muscle cars, street rods as well as motorcycles are welcome.
