Brocton Interact Club bottle and can drive today

The Brocton Interact Club will hold a bottle and can drive from 9 a.m. to noon today, Nov. 3 at the bus garage off of School Street to benefit the Preventative Angels Project.

Lakeshore Humane Society holds Pet Adoption Day

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a Pet Adoption Day/Open House at its Adoption Center today, Nov. 3 from 12 to 4 p.m. The center is located at 431 E. Chestnut St., Dunkirk. Come to see the facility, and meet some of the dogs and cats who need caring homes.

If unable to come to an Adoption Day, please call 672-1991 to arrange an appointment to see the dogs and cats awaiting adoption. (One must be 21 years of age or older to adopt a pet). Also, LHS will hold an “Adoption Evening” on Wednesday, Nov. 7 from 6 to 8 p.m.

While at the LHS Adoption Center, check out the “Cat’s Meow” Boutique to find pet-related gift items, while supporting the Lakeshore Humane Society!

Fredonia Farmers’ Market at Masonic Lodge

Starting today, Nov. 3, the Fredonia Farmers’ Market is moving in out of the cold and rain to winter quarters at the Fredonia Masonic Lodge, 321 E. Main St. The winter hours are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many of the summer vendors will be there, in addition to some new folks. Weekly updates will be posted on the Fredonia Farmers’ Market Facebook page, and on the website at fredoniafarmersmarket.org.

First Ward Falcon Club turkey and meat party tonight

First Ward Falcon Club will host a turkey and meat party tonight, Nov. 3 at 7 p.m., at 341 Lake Shore Drive E., Dunkirk. The event includes free draught beer. All are welcome.

Pomfret Water District Bills are due Monday, Nov. 5. If they are not received or postmarked by Nov. 5, they will be relevied on their 2019 Town/County Tax Bill. No exceptions.

Dunkirk School 4 PTO annual Election Day barbecue set

Dunkirk School 4 PTO will be holding its annual Election Day BBQ on Tuesday, Nov. 6, at 752 Central Ave. from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. The dinner, prepared by Weidner’s, includes 1\4 chicken, pulled pork sandwich, buttered potatoes, coleslaw, roll and butter.
