Cassadaga group

meets today

CASSADAGA — Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will meet at 7 p.m. today in the Cassadaga Library. Details for the Cassadaga Winter Festival will be finalized.

New board members will be introduced and plans for 2019 will be discussed. All area residents are encouraged to attend and present their “wish lists” for the year.

City accepting Christmas trees

Dunkirk residents wishing to dispose of Christmas trees may do so at the Central Garage on Lucas Avenue by placing them on the brush pile. Residents may leave trees at the curb, call the Garage at 366-4411 and leave the address and it will be picked up when personnel is available.

Silver Creek VFW Fish Fry to return in February

The Friday fish fry at the VFW Post 6472 Silver Creek will be closed for the month of January and will open Feb.. 15. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We are in the process of revamping our menu and minor maintenance needs to be done.

We will open to the public on Friday, Feb. 15 with regular hours 4-8 p.m.

The club itself is not included in the temporary shutdown and is open to all members and guests. Thank you for your support and understanding.

Chautauqua Regional Youth Symphony Application Deadline is Friday

The Chautauqua Regional Youth Symphony application deadline is Friday at 11:59 p.m.

There are openings in beginning, intermediate and advanced youth orchestras that rehearse Friday afternoons (for beginners) and Saturdays at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Lakewood. Visit for details.
