Special meeting for the town board of Hanover

The Town of Hanover Supervisor has called a special meeting for Thursday, April 18 to be held at 10 a.m. at the Hanover Town Hall for the purpose of appointments to the Hanover Boat Launch and any other matters that may come before the board.

Ripley Board of

Ed to meet

A regular meeting of the Board of Education of the Ripley Central School District will be held on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the IRLA Library (Room 204) of the Ripley Central School, for the purpose of any and all items that come before the board.

Westfield school

construction to begin

Westfield Academy and Central School will be starting work on the front entrance portion of the Capital Outlay Project. Work is anticipated to start Friday with substantial completion scheduled by April 26. All aspects of the work to be completed have been reviewed. The safety of all students and visitors is the utmost priority along with keeping disruption of the normal routine of the students to a minimum. During the April Break, there will be no access to the building via the main entrance. Access to the building will be limited to the entrance by the cafeteria. If a disruption to student routine is needed when school resumes, another notification will be sent out. All questions and concerns regarding access to the building can be addressed to Josh Brumagin, General Maintenance Mechanic, at jbrumagin@wacs2.wnyric.org.

Forestville Fire District Board meeting set

The Forestville Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners will conduct its regular monthly meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Forestville Fire Station, located at 18 Chestnut Street in Forestville.

Sheridan Historical Society Spring Basket Raffle to be held Friday

The Sheridan Historical Society Spring Basket Raffle is underway. Fifteen prizes are offered including theme baskets, chocolate, gift cards, lottery tickets, and more. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5, and are available at the Sheridan Town Hall, Hamlet Farm, from any member or by calling 785-1403. Drawing to be held on April 19 at 10 a.m. at the SHS building. You do not need to be present to win. Proceeds support the continued work in preserving the history of Sheridan. The Sheridan Historical Society is a non-profit organization of volunteers chartered by the NYS Department of Education. Meetings are held the last Monday of the month and announced in the OBSERVER’S Community Calendar.
