Villenova Burial Association

The Villenova Burial Association will hold a special meeting on Tuesday, June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at the Villenova Town Hall, 1094 Butcher Road, South Dayton. Members (lot holders or those with family members interred at Villenova Cemetery) are encouraged to attend.

Westfield Village Board to meet today

Notice is hereby provided that the Village of Westfield Board of Trustees will hold a public meeting on Thursday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. in the North Room of Eason Hall.

Dunkirk Elks Lodge Hosting an Open House

The Dunkirk Elks Lodge located at 428 Central Avenue will be hosting an open house. This event is being held on Saturday, June 8 from 3 to 5 p,m.

Who is invited to the open house? Everyone is; nonmembers, past members, current members, and bring your family too. The Dunkirk Lodge extends this invitation to our Dunkirk Fredonia community, also to Silver Creek, Westfield, Forestville, and all over the northern county.

The Elks motto is “Elks Care, Elks Share”. Attend the open house and see this motto in action. Stop in for a tour of our beautiful lodge, enjoy a few appetizers and socialize with some nice people. One never knows who they will meet at their local Elks Lodge.

Silver Creek Children’s Fair set for Saturday

The annual Silver Creek Children’s Fair will take place Saturday, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Village Ball Park, hosted by the Kiwanis. A $6 wrist band covers all kids’ attractions, including bounce houses, pony rides, duck race, train ride, carriage rides. etc. There will also be a magician show and performances in “entertainment alley.” Games, food and vendors will be available.

Rabies clinic Saturday

The town of Portland is hosting a free rabies clinics on Saturday, June 8, from 2-5 p.m. at the Brocton Fire Hall, 80 Lake Ave., Brocton. Dogs must be on a leash; cats must be in a container. Animals must be three months old to get vaccinated. Bring previous vaccination record to get three-year vaccinations. New York state law requires cats, dogs and domesticated ferrets be vaccinated for rabies by age 4 months.

Fredonia Planning Board to meet about Brooks project

The Village of Fredonia Planning Board will be reviewing and discussing updated plans and information concerning the Brooks Memorial Hospital proposal in Fredonia on Friday, June 7 at 5:30 p.m. Public questions and comment will NOT be taken at this workshop session.

The Fredonia Planning Board’s final discussions and an anticipated vote on the Brooks hospital project will take place Wednesday, June 12 at 5:30 p.m. Public questions and comment WILL be taken at this meeting.
