The Quilt Lady is Coming to Fredonia!

The Northern Chautauqua Quilting Companions (NCQC) is pleased to announce a visit from Cathleen Koon Wiggs on Tuesday, June 25.

Wiggs is a retired Gunnery Sergeant who served 20 years in the Marines. She is also an accomplished quilter. Her quilts have been on the cover of “Primitive Quilts” with her patterns being featured.

There will be two events on June 25. NCQC would like to encourage anyone who has an interest in quilts to attend either or both. A free program titled “Stone Soup for Quilters” will be held at the regular guild meeting starting at 7 p.m. at Harvest Chapel Church, 39 Matteson St., Fredonia.

A late afternoon class will be held featuring Wiggs’ patterns from “Primitive Quilts.” Taking place at Harvest Chapel Church from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Cost of the class is $10 per person. You will get first hand information about how Cathleen got her quilts in the magazine and how she planned them. You will leave with a copy of her three patterns that were printed in the magazine!

Due to the need to have enough patterns pre-registration for the afternoon class is a must. Call Sally Olow at 366-6645 to let us know you will be there.

In accordance with the New York State Open Meetings Law, we are hereby notifying the local media of a Board meeting of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency (CCIDA) Board of Directors. The meeting will be held at the Fredonia Technology Incubator, 214 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 10:00 am.
