Dunkirk Board of Education meeting today

The regular February meeting of the Dunkirk City School District’s Board of Education will be held today, at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction room at the High School, 75 W. Sixth Street, Dunkirk.

Sons of the American Legion Squad 59 meet tonight

Tonight at 7 p.m., the Sons of the American Legion Squad 59 will be holding their monthly meeting at Post 59, 156 E. Main St. in Fredonia. All SAL are encouraged to attend the meetings, which are held on the second Tuesday of every month.

Water District meeting set for Thursday

The Administrative Board of the North Chautauqua County Water District shall hold a meeting Thursday, Feb. 13 at Fireside Manor Restaurant, 5377 W. Lake Road, Dunkirk at 4 p.m.

Town of Hanover Democratic Club meetings

Get involved! The Town Of Hanover Democratic Club meets the second Thursday of each month at the VFW in Silver Creek. The meetings start at 7:30 p.m. except for the Feb. 13 p.m. which will start at 7 p.m. New members welcomed and encouraged.

American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary to hold dinner

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary will be sponsoring a Swiss Steak Centennial dinner honoring the Auxiliary’s 100th Birthday on Saturday, March 14 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Post 62. Tickets are $12 pre-sale only until March 7; half price dinners for American Legion Auxiliary members in good standing. DJ Sterling Audio Entertainment from 4 to 9 p.m.

A patriotic quilt, donated by Bonnie Schneider, is underway and will be raffled at the dinner. The proceeds benefit the Auxiliary and Legion programs. Tickets are available at Post 62, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk, phone 366-6262.

The American Legion Auxiliary’s 100th anniversary is a time to not only celebrate the achievements of the last century, but also to look ahead to the next century.
