Repairs today for Van Buren railroad crossing

Railroad crews will be making repairs to the Van Buren Road railroad crossing located in the town of Pomfret. Van Buren Road will be closed to all traffic at the railroad crossing today. A detour will not be posted. Please plan on taking an alternate route.

Gowanda to hold meet the school board candidates

Gowanda Central School District is pleased to share that the Kiwanis Club of Gowanda will present the “Meet the Board of Education Candidates Night” remotely via Zoom on Thursday, May 28, at 6:30 p.m.

Be an informed voter. Find out where the Board of Education candidates stand on issues that concern our school district. Questions to be presented by the moderator and addressed by the candidates can be submitted to the District Clerk at msferneza@gcslearn.org or (716)532-3325, ext. 6300 by 5 p.m. on May 28, 2020.

The following candidates are vying for three at-large seats: Max Graham, Jim Hotnich, Benjamin C. Kysor, Mark D. Nephew, Dana Szalay-Delaney, and Barbara Weston.

Gowanda CSD plans Facebook Live on June 3

GOWANDA — Gowanda Central School District’s Title VI ]OGWE’O:WEH Education Program (formerly the Title VII Indian Education Program) will hold a public hearing on the 2020-21 Title VI Grant Application on Wednesday, June 3, at 2 p.m. on Facebook Live.

Staff will outline the 2020-2021 Title VI Indian Education Program grant application for the second year of the multi-year application. Review of proposed objectives, activities, and budget structures are based on ongoing input from the Title VI Parent Committee.
