PVCS BOE meets Thursday

SOUTH DAYTON — The Pine Valley Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p≥m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the Board Room (Room 11) in the Elementary School. The public is welcome to attend. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Water District board meets Thursday

SHERIDAN — The North Chautauqua County Water District Administrative Board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 13, in the Sheridan Community Building, 2773 Route 20, Sheridan. The public is welcome to attend. There is a maximum of 50 people allowed, and all participants must adhere to social distancing requirements.

American Red Cross hosts blood drive Friday

PORTLAND — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from noon to 4 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Portland Fire Department, 6481 W. Main Road, Portland. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
