City of Dunkirk Rec Center to reopen

The city of Dunkirk’s Recreation Center at the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds will open Monday. The Rec Center will be open for four months again this season. Toddlers up to adults can enjoy everything from open gym, to soccer clinics, to birthday parties to a walking program; the Rec Center has something for everyone.

For adults, a.m. walk will continue Monday through Friday from 7:30-10 a.m. Walking is $1 per day or a punch card with 14 walks is $10. Announcements will be made for future programming.

Residents can book a team’s practice, or a birthday party by contacting the Recreation Office at 366-9885 or 366-9886, or by stopping into the office located at 45 Cliffstar Court Dunkirk.

Cassadaga Valley to meet Monday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School District Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Social distancing will be enforced. The public is welcome to attend.

Hanover selling boat launch passes

Just in time for a last minute holiday gift, the town of Hanover has 2021 boat launch passes available for sale. Passes are currently being sold at 2020 prices; $80 for boats and $30 for kayaks. These prices are subject to a possible price increase after the first of the year. Passes can be obtained by downloading the boat launch application at www.townofhanoverny.com and either mailing in the completed application, trailer registration, fee and a self-addressed stamped envelope or by dropping off this same information, fee and self-addressed stamped envelope into one of the drop boxes located at both the front and side door of Hanover Town Hall.

Passes will be mailed to you using the provided envelopes.

Hanover Board to meet virtually

The Hanover Town Board will be holding a meeting, via Zoom conferencing, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. There will not be a workshop meeting prior to the board meeting. Willow Mission to be open Monday

The Willow Mission will continue to be open on the second and fourth Mondays for food only. The mission will not be open Monday, Dec. 28. The mission will be giving Christmas food packages on Monday, Dec. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to the generosity of Christ Community Church, CIO Group and St Columbians. There are a limited amount of packages. A mask must be worn and the packages may be picked up at parking lot door. The mission is located at Dunkirk First United Methodist Church, 601 Washington Ave., Dunkirk.
