Westfield scouts to hold can drive

WESTFIELD — On Monday, members of Boy Scout Troop 201 will be collecting returnable bottles and cans to help pay for their activities.

The Westfield scouts will be collecting at the Presbyterian Church from 6 to 8 p.m.

“The boys will be wearing masks and people only need to drive up. No one gets out of the car — the boys will unload and do all the work,” said Troop Leader Dan Scriven. “It’s the perfect fundraiser for a socially distant world.”

Like their counterparts around the area, the Westfield boys were unable to meet for months, and are just beginning to make plans for activities again.
