Dems sought for Brocton, Portland posts

The Brocton-Portland Democratic Committee is looking for anyone interested to run for the follow positions in the November election: Chautauqua County legislator District 7, Portland town supervisor, town clerk, town council, highway superintendent, tax collector and a Brocton village trustee position.

Anyone interested or in need of additional information, contact Dan Schrantz. New members and anyone interested in helping in the November town and village election are always welcome. You can contact Schrantz at 792-4661 for more information.

COVID-19 cancels exercise classes

The Grape Belt Senior exercise class is being paused due to the rise in local COVID-19 cases. The organization said it will reevaluate the situation in several weeks.

Murray Hose meetings canceled

Murray Hose Co. 4 has decided to cancel all monthly meetings until further notice.

County Land Bank meets Wednesday

Members of the Chautauqua County Land Bank Corp. will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, via Zoom. The public is welcome to attend; to register, send an email to gparadis@chautauqualandbank.org for the link and password. A recording of the meeting will be available afterward. The monthly meetings of the CCLBC are conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition and potential sale of property by CCLBC and other official business as required (agendas will be provided at the meetings).
