Sept. 11 ceremony set for city

The Dunkirk Fire Department and Dunkirk Professional Firefighters Local 616 will be holding its annual Sept. 11 ceremony at fire headquarters, 311 Eagle St. Members of the public are invited to attend. Any unvaccinated members of the public in attendance must wear a mask.

North County Water District to meet

There will be a meeting of the North County Industrial Water and Sewer District Board of Directors on Saturday, Sept. 11, at the town of Dunkirk Hall, 4737 Willow Road, Dunkirk. The meeting, which is open to the public, will begin at 10 a.m. and the sewer district meeting will immediately follow the water district’s meeting.

Roblin Steel Coffee Club to meet

The Roblin Steel Coffee Club will meet at 8:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 10, at Demetri’s in Dunkirk.

Sinclairville Village Board to meet

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Village Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. today in the village office, 8 Lester St., Sinclairville. The public is welcome to attend.

Westfield Quilters Guild to meet

WESTFIELD — Members of theWestfield Quilters’ Guild will meet at the YWCA in Westfield on Saturday. A meet and greet will take place at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting starting at 10 a.m. This month the program will be presented by member Glenda Lewis, who will share her love of Stripology Rulers, and teach how to use them as she teaches the Alberta Quilt. Patterns will be available for purchase at the meeting.

Can drive to benefit Ellington Farmman Library

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Farman Library, 760 Thornton Road, will have a returnable can drive on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the library. The library will accept clean returnable cans, plastic bottles and glass bottles. Funds will be used to support library programming.

Rails to Trails Board of Directors to meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Rails to Trails Board of Directors will hold its annual meeting on Monday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. under the main outdoor pavilion at Mayville Park.

Light refreshments will be served after the meeting. In the case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held indoors under the high ceilings of the spacious Carlson Center at the same location.

Important agenda items include the installation of new officers and the induction of new board members. Many issues involving new and old trail segments will be discussed. General Chautauqua Rails to Trails members are especially welcome. As with all board meetings, which at this time are held on the first Monday evening of each month at 7 p.m., the public is welcome as well.
