Church planning trunk-or-treat
WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday School is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m. The event will be rain or shine at the church for food, games, prizes, crafts, treats, and pumpkin decorating! Bring out the whole family in costume for a free evening of good, clean fun! It is located at 7081 East Route 20.
Al-Anon Group meets Thursday
Steps to Serenity Al-Anon Group will meet on Thursday from 6:45 to 8 p.m. at Harvest Chapel Free Methodist Church 39 Matteson St., Fredonia. Beginning Nov. 3, the meeting will be from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. at the Church. During the winter season if the Fredonia School District is closed due to inclement weather, the meeting will be canceled. Auxiliary holds vendor, bake sale
CASSADAGA — Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will be hosting its annual vendor show and bake sale. It’s a great time to get some early Christmas shopping done, grab a homemade soup and sandwich lunch, and get dessert too from the bake sale.
Pomfret historian speaking Tuesday
SINCLAIRVILLE — The November meeting of the Valley Historical Society will take place on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The meeting will be at the Sinclairville Fire Hall in the dining room. The speaker will be Todd Langworthy, town of Pomfret historian. Langworthy will speak on various topics concerning the Town of Pomfret. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.

programs set
The following Children’s programs will be offered in November at the Darwin R. Barker Library, 7 Day St., Fredonia:
From Nov. 7 through 29, the Children’s Room will be having storytimes on Mondays at 10:30 a.m. for preschoolers and Tuesdays at 4:15 p.m. for all ages. Join in for stories, videos, crafts and play. All children are welcome. No registration is required.
Master Builders continues on Thursdays at 4 p.m. Bring friends and come build with LEGO and the library’s other building toys. Participate in weekly challenges and prizes. All children are welcome. No registration is required.
