Bake sale planned for Tuesday
SHERIDAN — The Sheridan Historical Society will hold a bake sale on Election Day, Tuesday from 9 a.m. till 3p.m. at the Sheridan Historical Society building at Route 20 and Center Road. Homemade cookies, cakes, pies, breads, fudge, and canned goods will be available. Vote, then enjoy a delicious treat!
Proceeds help the Historical Society maintain its building and protect the artifacts that represent Sheridan’s history. The museum is open to the public during presentations, monthly open house during the summer, and by appointment by contacting Virginia Becker at 716-673-1822.
Parking
changes start Sunday in Dunkirk
Alternate and overnight parking regulations on streets in the city of Dunkirk will be changing in November to assist snow removal efforts during the winter months. Overnight parking rules go into effect Sunday and stay in effect through Saturday, April 1. For overnight regulations, parking is prohibited on a number of treats from 3:30 to 7 a.m.
All other streets are subject to alternate parking regulations. Vehicles shall be parked only on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days and only on the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered days. The date of the day after the hour of 5 p.m. will determine the side which parking is allowed.
Vehicles in violation of overnight, alternate or any other posted regulations that hamper snow-removal efforts will be towed at the owner’s expense. Motorists that block sidewalks and hamper sidewalk plowing will also be ticketed and towed if necessary.
County health board meets Nov. 17
MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its meeting on Thursday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m. in the HRC Building, B-14, Basement Level Conference Room, 7 N. Erie St. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person.
