Workers’ Memorial Program set for Saturday

FREWSBURG– The 22nd anniversary of the Chautauqua County Workers’ Memorial Program at Erlandson Overview Park on Oak Hill Road in Frewsburg will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday. The keynote speaker will be Illa Caira, CSEA Region 6 Health and Safety coordinator. The event, which is free and open to the public, will include area labor officials as well as elected leaders from the state and county. Refreshments, courtesy of the Jamestown Area Labor Council, will be available.

Workers’ Memorial Day is a day of remembering all of the men and women from Chautauqua County who have been killed on the job, in the line of duty, or died from job-related causes.

Trinity United Church plans free community meal

GOWANDA — The Trinity United Church, located at Erie Avenue and Park Street, will host a take-out only free community meal at the Park Street entrance on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. or gone. The menu is pork medallions, au gratin potatoes, vegetables, bread and a cookie. Free will donations are appreciated but not necessary. Drive East Main to Railroad Avenue and then down Park Street, following the signs, or walk up. Free will donations are appreciated, but not necessary. The next meal is June 10.
