County Auxiliary Meets June 8

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary monthly meeting will be at the William L. Travis Post 493, 3 E. Marvin St., Mayville on Thursday, June 8 at 7 p.m. Election and installation of officers will be conducted. Units are encouraged to have a representative in attendance.

Village plans brush pick-up

The village of Fredonia will be picking up limbs and yard waste beginning Monday at 7 a.m. Collection will continue until every village street has been completed. Bags and brush are collected separately by different crews. All items for collection must be at the curb no later than 7 a.m. Monday.

In no case will there be repeat collection of areas completed. All yard waste must be bagged or in barrels. The village encourages residents to use biodegradable bags or barrels and all limbs and brush must be tied with twine.

Limbs and brush must be cut no longer than 4 feet in length with bundles being no larger than 18 inches in diameter. Bundles and bags are limited to 65 pounds in weight.

There is no collection of loose material, including leaves. Residents are reminded they can bring yard waste to 176 Eagle St. No bags or containers should be left behind.

Congregation sets Sunday service

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua, at 222 Temple Street in Fredonia, holds a Sunday worship service at 11 a.m., both at their physical location and on Zoom. For those attending the in-person service, please follow the driveway and park in the lower lot behind the building.

The theme for June is Delight. On Sunday, the Rev. Sally Hamlin will speak on “Living Relationships.” What can you name as the most important relationships in your life? How do you maintain them? Did you include yourself on this list?

Sunday is also Share the Plate Sunday. The offering, unless marked for a pledge, will support the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Chautauqua County.
