Lakeshore Humane Society plans chicken barbecue

The Lakeshore Humane Society will hold a drive-through/pick-up Weidner’s Chicken Barbecue Saturday, June 17 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Lakeshore Humane Society Adoption Center, 431 E. Chestnut St. in Dunkirk.

The dinner includes a half chicken, buttered potatoes, cole slaw, and roll. Tickets are $15. Purchase pre-sale tickets online by June 14 at lakeshorehumanesociety.org. (Pre-sale ticket purchase is strongly encouraged; a limited number of dinners might be available the day of the event, but cannot be assured.)

On this day before Father’s Day, there will also be a bake sale where everyone can purchase delicious Father’s Day treats and a fabulous basket raffle to help the efforts of the Lakeshore Humane Society.

CVCS board to meet on Monday

The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room.

Legion Auxiliary meets Tuesday

Dunkirk Memorial American Legion Unit 62 Auxiliary monthly meeting will be on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Post 62, 211 Central Ave. Installation of Auxiliary officers will be conducted.

Class of ’68 planning reunion

Dunkirk High School and Cardinal Mindszenty High School will celebrate the 55 years since that June graduation with a “Get-Together” on Friday, Aug. 4, beginning at 6 p.m. The event will be at Post 62 American Legion, 211 Central Ave., Dunkirk.

Other events will occur that first August weekend, including the city-sponsored Music at the Pier or Memorial Park on Thursday, while Saturdays usually include music at the Beach House Grill in Wright Park.
